Right Brain – Left Brain
Our brains are not as simple as having the Right side only work on Creative and the Left hemisphere only work on Analytics. We now understand things are more homogeneous and integrated. The two halves of our brain are both creative and logical.
The right-brain does tend to process the “big picture” while the left-brain gets into “details”.
Corpus Callosum
The two sides of the brain are divided by the corpus callosum, it provides the pathway for sharing information between the hemispheres.
It serves as a catalyst inspiring thought taking…
- The academic or theoretical to the practical.
- High-level to deep detail level.
Right-Left Brain Integration
This connection enables complex thought manipulated into formal reasoning.
The evolution of questions like why and how, which indicate more critical and complex thought, brought on by an integration of the two sides of the brain.
Without that conversation and without stimulating that conversation, we are inhibiting full operational value of the two hemispheres and the full functioning of reasoning.
Why Exercise Your Brain?
Our brains have the capacity to change throughout our lifetimes.
The brain can continue to form new brain cells via a process known as neurogenesis.
People who use their Corpus Collusum regularly…
…have better problem-solving skills
…are more empathetic to others’ needs
…have improved memory function
This means more than just being able to solve logic puzzles or recall information from memory; it means being able to make decisions based on logic rather than emotion.
It means having a higher level of critical thinking skills and an ability to process information faster than other people do.
